5 Ways to Keep Joy at a Distance

1. Don’t Own & Confess Your Sin.

“Blessed is he one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered…For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.  For day and night your hand was heavy upon me…” Psalm 32:1, 3

2. Avoid the Presence of God.

“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11

3. Let Your Anxieties Talk to You Rather than Talk to God About Your Anxieties.

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say rejoice…do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:4, 6-7

4. Trust in Yourself to Make Life Work.

“But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.” Psalm 13:5

5. Shut Out the Voice of Jesus.

“These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” John 15:11
